It’s the system that allows that to happen. I know a guy who did 186hrs credit in March. 5 days off. Straight pay. The weekly system chiefs update shows people refreshing Flica more than 3 times a minute 24 hours a day. If you’re at 50% and cant get a weekend off then guess what? You’re not dropping your schedule to get VDA. You’re not in flica ur in stucka.

190 CA on SCL last year. Very junior. On RSV did 160 credit, 60 VDA one month. Commuter so I’d get there before my RAP, ask if they needed me to start early then they’d VDA it. Nearly every trip, every day they changed the pairing. OSP. Boom. At one point they bought me a positive space ticket on an off line carrier to cover a single leg. At end of trip they’d call and ask if I was willing to work another flight.

senior, drop schedule and put VDA on your schedule. Wait for the phone call. Your math should read like this.

12 year Capt. 264/hr * 190% = 501.60

1,200,000 / 501 = 2395.20

2395.20 / 12 = 199.60

Its pretty easy to do this when your doing your days at double time. Or maybe even triple time because you got something bought of your schedule. The people that are doing this literally have no life and only brag about working all the time and how much credit they have. I wish I made 1.2 million. However there is only so many times I can sleep in a hotel a year.
How does someone get called for 200 hours of VDA every month for a year? Are there no reserves in that base?

200 hours of credit means getting called out for ten 4-day trips every month, and every one of them at VDA pay. I’d believe 150 in a month with plenty of IROPS, but 200 VDA every month? No way.

Live in Socal, based east coast and vda out of LGB which had been short staffed nearly all 2019. May not explain it all but makes it easier to accomplish.

that won’t be the case this year. And he is an FO not a Captain who had LGB as his blue city. The rules changed late last year he will now get called after all the in base FO’s in LGB. (that is how it’s supposed to work upon full implementation of the CBA) and yes he averaged over 200 credit hours per month at 12 yr 320 FO rates.

I was just explaining how someone was able to do it. Hence why I referred to 2019.

I mean I'm pretty damn lazy, but if I had the opportunity to pull in 1.2 or even close to that for a single year, yeah I'd work my ass off every day possible, and the hit cruise control after that.
