I commuted from LA to JFK. It’s easy because their is always something leaving. It’s just long.

Tolls if you take the turnpike are 25 dollars for the round trip, less if you have an ez pass. If you take 528 to 95 it's less than 4 dollars in tolls and takes about the same amount of time depending on traffic. It's a little more than three hours if you do the speed limit without traffic. Just having the peace of mind that I don't have to worry about finding a flight home after I get done with work would be worth it for me.
Just get a Tesla, and problem solved. Not only is there a functional autopilot for the highways, "gas could be free". Charging stations are free here @ the Tampa employee lot.

Commuting s###s a##!!! 😎

I’ve done both and it’s a matter of perspective. I used to think the drive was the way to go because of not worrying about what flight to catch and the loads, till I drove after a red eye. Nothing like flying all night and driving for 3 hours (best case because of traffic) as the sun is rising. It was scary to me to see how sleepy I was and how it wore on me and it made me change my mentality. At least in the plane commute I didn’t have the worry of operating and I could take a nap. Also for the pilot counting dollars. $150 dollars each trip assuming you do 4 four days equals $600 extra a month. To each their own. I’ll take a seat in the back personally. Also in regards to our current situation I rather be bidding much more senior with better flying in JFK than fight for scraps in FLL. We’ll wait to hear what then guys and gals coming down say after a few months.

I only commuted on JB. Mint makes it a little easier. I don’t know what it looks like now but this was precovid and we were running 10-12 flights each day.

I couldn’t agree with this more.

It’s very simple. When you’re tired, you pull over and take 10-15 min power nap. I do this after morning red eyes.
