320 vs. 190 lifestyle

West Coast guy here. Interviewing in a couple weeks. I read this thread and had a whole bunch of questions answered. Seriously, much appreciated. If anyone has insight to the typical flight schedules out of LAX, I'd really like to know. If I end up on the west coast, I'd likely bid 190 (already typed from my regional). Curious about where those routes are and whether it's possible to push trips together for commuting purposes. Thanks.

190 doesn’t fly to the west coast. Sorry
but yes you can bunch trips
together to limit your commute.

What does reserve utilization look like on the 320? I wouldn't necessarily mind being on reserve awhile, and it's what I expected I'd experience.
I also think, given a choice of all three airframes, I'd take the 220 over the 190, if just for something "different" (coming from the 170).

You want a regular line by month 3? Bid the 190. You want “something different” and sitting reserve? Bid the 320 or 220.

Unless you want the Bus to make you more attractive to a legacy or you live in an Airbus only base; think twice about being junior on the bus… QOL will not be ideal being junior, especially going into this summer season. You’ll also rarely fly during the day as a jr line holder. Food for thought. Those all redeye 4/5 Day trips go unbid for a reason.

Do you know the seniority of the bottom A220 line holder?

Theres nothing to gain from knowing what today’s junior line holder is on the A220, but it’s about 3 years. When the fleet goes from 8 planes to 16 by the end of 2022….just throw a number out there. 6 months-1 year? I’m 6 years at Jetblue and couldn’t hold a line this past summer, now I get what I want with weekends off. It’s way too fluid to make predictions.

Can you move reserve days around pretty easily to get certain days off?
