I just see you as always negative towards our pilot group. Was wondering if you are going to vote with your feet. |

So the group shouldn't raise its own polling expectations from the bottom of our peer-set, those who don't want pilots to expect the bottom should just leave?
I think our expectations are just that.... our own. I am just sick of all the negativity from the no voters.... 75% of us see it differently than you all, and that's okay. But just stop attacking others in our union and pilot group. |

Some of us actually want to close out our careers at our current carrier. And yet when we fight for what we believe can be better we're told to shut up and vote with our feet. No, I vote with my vote. I see nothing wrong with wanting to continue to work where I do and trying to get a better contract. So yeah, I'll voice my opinion in the forums and in the cockpit. You don't have to agree, but I'm here for the long haul and I'll fight for *THIS* time, not "next time." |

There is a subset of yes voters who think we COULD and SHOULD have done better, with the leverage we had. We didn't even take this to the labor dispute we were told to prepare for. They believe we gave up before the real fight even started, but now had a choice to make with shifted timeline and the knowledge that their peers had low expectations and low survey responses. I ACCEPT the result. I also want the group and the union to learn from it. The union should have educated the group BEFORE surveys about where the going market rate for pilots was going, and what the actual VALUE of profit sharing is, in other words what the actual size of the average bonus checks our peers get. Not just an obscure formula that means nothing to those who can't read a balance sheet. They also should have re-polled after ALK and DL had TAs. Telling those with the highest expectations to leave has never been the path to a top-of-the-industry contract. Be better than that. |
