Like the abrogation that happens in MCO every month?

I hear and completely understand what you’re saying, but there’s some middle ground to be had here. Parameters put in place. A trip sitting in JFK open time for 2.5 weeks that no one wants should be able to be flown by a Newark pilot that wants to pick up. Instead it’s going to burn a reserve. And it’s been there all month. No, that’s fuqing stupid.

I'm happy for you that you care more about not burning reserves (and, therefore, not increasing total staffing) than not abrogating seniority.

More seniority abrogation is certainly the answer to presently occurring seniority abrogation!

Maybe not, but levels the playing field to all or nothing.

Yet at NK there is no shortage of X/Y list calls (200%) despite being able to abrogate your seniority... mythical problem is mythical...

Are you aware of the base trade option?

Perhaps Bliggins would prefer what AA or Delta must do and cover all 3 metro NY airports. He likes the drive to EWR when it suits him but the productivity of JFK...don't we all. Me thinks he would not be so keen to take that first upgrade if he lived in say Pennsylvania. Perhaps he doesn't remember the days of pre EWR base where WE were paid to limo to EWR. I'm sure the company would love take that away in exchange for all encompassing NYC base. Bottom line is this: if you want to eat go to JFK, there is 48% less food (daily departures) at EWR now there there was a year ago. Ill admit as a West of Hudson guy life was better for me pre EWR base, but it is a Seniority based system.

I think there’s a point somewhere in here. You’re all over the place. Yes, seniority. You know what else is seniority? Our VDA system. And that’s a broken mess. In case you miss it, my point is there’s middle ground to satisfy a larger percentage of the pilot group WHILE respecting seniority.

Very true. Our VDA system really only benefits a very small percentage. In EWR I'd say it's =<5%...curious what it is in other domiciles. ..........Those few... they do very well.....the rest of us......well were just stuck making 14% less than Delta. That's another thread perhaps.
