Hello,
I am seeking information regarding the background check phase done by hire right. I have a class date for the beginning of September. I've filled out all the paper work, done the drug test, and finger printing. The only thing that hasn't been fully completed is the background check from hireright. They asked for documentation / alternate contact for a job that I had in high school. I was unable to give them any documentation but I did give them an alternate form of communication with my high school employer. The fact that the hold up is due to a job I had in high school seems a bit ridiculous to me... Anyways, I gave them this alternate information over a week ago and there still seems to be no progress being made on hireright's end.
What I'm really wondering is if the background check doesn't seem like its going to be completed by my class date is that going to be a problem? Does jetBlue let you start if the background check isn't complete on hirerights end? I don't really want to put my two weeks in at my current employer until the background check is done in fear that my class date will get pushed back due to the background check.
Thanks

Someone from B6 will have to answer your specific question, but in general airlines are *not* required to have completed background checks or SIDA checks before you start class... obviously that will need to be done prior to IOE (sim?) or granting JS access, but some airlines will let folks start class with the backgriound check pending. It's usually the regionals or budget airlines... they know they can always fire you if the background comes back with any issues.
The top tier generally will not give you a class date until the checks are done, they don't want to deal with awkwardness of the applicant having quite their previous job and possibly having given up years of seniority.

I believe in the past JB allowed you to start class before the background check was complete.

JetBlue will currently let you start class without the education/employment verification being complete, however the criminal background check portion and drug screen/fingerprints need to be cleared before you start class. At least, that was my recent experience.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, as I’m not 100% sure on this. But HireRight does their background check in stages.

Now this is back over 10 years ago but I had to go to the Social security office and get paperwork that I worked at a flight school that went under but that might be an option.
Only waited 5 hours in line, plus you want to see some all star citizens, shouting matches through glass dividers, and cops forcefully removing people, you’ll be in the right place.
