Default How does BuddyPass/Positive Space work?

Hi All, new user here,

I was gifted free tickets from a family member and just wanted to know how it works. I dont want to keep bothering them about my million questions. I am not even sure if these are "buddy pass" tickets or "positive space". Can the latter actually be gifted without them being in trouble?

I'd appreciate it if the following could aslo be answered!

Are these tickets actually free or is my family member paying a fee?

If so does that fee change based on where I fly? I want to make sure they are okay!

Can only my family member book the tickets or is there a portal?

Is it possible for me to end up in a situation where I do not have a flight to leave?

Is it possible for me to end up in a situation where I do not have a flight to return home?

If I do not have a flight do I have the same rights as a paying passenger as in compensation for my additional hotel cost?

Am I free to fly only on JetBlue or can I fly on partner airlines?

Are taxes and fees included?

This last one is a little bit weird but would it be possible for me to book a flight on a partner airline, one that supports extended stopovers e.g Qatar airlines?

Thank you so much!!!

If someone gifted you passes they should explain them to you. We have no way of knowing if they are positive space or standby passes. In general you will pay a fee for the flights and they are "space available" meaning you have no rights to any of the features paying passengers receive. All airlines are a little different but I would not recommend flying in proximity to any holidays and never use a Space Available pass to an event that you cannot afford to miss.

Good Luck

also remember you are representing the employee that gave you those passes. Missbehavior can result in dispcipline up to termination for the employee that gave those passes out..

How is the ZED agreement with jetblue? I was told that there are quite a few airlines that allow ZED upgrades for jetblue employees? Also, is your registered companion eligble for ZED fares?

if this actually happened as stated, which I doubt, the employee doesn't care much about their job, apparently. you need to ask them these questions. they should have told you all this before giving you anything.

more likely some sort of scam is being perpetrated...not sure by whom. but this line kind of gives it away: "Can the latter actually be gifted without them being in trouble?"

Including the fact that it was posted almost a year ago… I’m not sure why the “new” question was attached to this ridiculous thread.
