Robins Out.

We’ve known for years JG would be next in line since they fired Marty. It was between those two and they chose Joanna.
The timing of this announcement leads me to think they have inside word the merger will be approved. She’s going to lead the integration for the next 5+ yrs then we will get a new CEO to drive the growth of the combined carrier.

Certainly many others, including the Potato farm seem to think the exact opposite.

I hope he doesn't have any serious health issues. No way he'd drop that in there as an excuse IMO, seems very personal and honest. People can def joke all they want but no way I'd want that job. You're on the hook for everything, and I know it can't be easy.
I have/had faith in Robin, I don't have faith in JG. I hope she proves me wrong but I think we're in for a rough ride if shes gonna be calling all the shots.

Now let’s assume the merger passes. It’s going to be a slog for 5yrs dealing with integration, negotiations not only with labor but also suppliers, airports, IT, etc etc. This sort of stuff is much more up Joanna’s alley. She will be better suited for this instead of Robin.

Let’s assume the merger fails. Plan B for JB would be to leverage our existing structure, particularly BOS/JFK/FLL and the last way to grow those cities would be WBs. Robin’s wheelhouse is international TATL knowledge, premium cabins, etc. He would be critical for making this happen in my mind.

Kinda what I was thinking also. Hate to see a Robin go, but Joanna’s background seems well suited for merger transition process, which is also why I think it’ll be a go sometime this week. I’ve been somewhat ambivalent about this merger, but I do think it’s happening now. If for some reason it’s denied, we’re in deep chit.
