As far as RSV goes, I would like to have LCL be always LCL. No conversions. If they want to convert you, they should be able to ask, but if you do not agree they cannot force you. And if you do agree to a conversion, it pays a mininum day on top of guarantee, regardless of whether you get a trip or not.

I agree, but I don’t see that happening. Conversions should be paid a minimum of 1 hour and get a hotel room/transportation included.

Every regional I'm aware of, and I'm *pretty sure* it's true of AA and Delta...according to a guy I know at DL - if a reserve picks up on off days they get straight time but it does go above guarantee AND they shave off reserve days.

This is secondhand info though, so I might be completely wrong in this post.

Only 1 hour? F that.

That's a big NO at Delta. A reserve cannot just "pick up" open time on their days off.

but

A reserve may put in for a green slip (premium trip that would pay 2x pay for line holder or straight time above guarantee plus future days off for reserves.)

If a reserve gets the GS, they get the hours above guarantee, and the next days off (of scheduled on call days) of equal number of the trip. If they have no on call days left in the month, you get PayBack days, PB, which are very useful for dropping future trips, future on call days, or even extra vacation (a subject worthy of an small pamphlet) on how to use effectively.

VDA needs total revamping. Don't hate the player but I hate the game. One dude shouldn't be able to make $700k/yr while dropping his schedule because he's senior and always gets called. If you're on VDA, get used , then you go to the bottom of the list until your name comes up again. Also needs more transparency. As someone said, we need to know what the trip is that we are volunteering to do on our time off. Quick DCA turn at 11pm to recover a flight? Yeah that could work. Fly down to the islands in a storm or do a transcon at midnight with zero knoweldge of what I'm accepting? Nope.

Reserve grids need to go. The CA reserve grid was already red in the first 48 add/drop window. How is that even possible?

How about the DPM alliances with instructors not senior enough to hold MCO and the triple time making Captain who are there? Should we fix that too? Tell that to them. I am in total agreement with you. Rewriting is the only way to fairness.

I think one hour is fine, but how about a system to bid for them? Many local people would put in for it every day. Everybody wins.

Yeah - wording issue on my part - sorry about that. The guy I was talking to as I was writing the prior post described pretty much what you just did above.

Yes, at Alaska.

You can yellow slip on days off to fill up earlier in the month. But it only goes toward guarantee.
