I am also trying to find out realistically if the company will be hiring this year or not. I am part of the gateway program and hold a B6 CJO, I had a class date for last year but that was canceled and since then just one email from gateway manager stating no hiring for Q1 and Q2 of 2025.

One of the B6 captains mentioned that company will start hiring in June (this was before the results for the displacement bid came out) but idk how accurate is that statement because when I read the comments here it seems like training department will be busy training the displaced pilots and it doesn't seem to be a need for new pilots.
Do you guys have any insight on that or if someone here can ask in the next pocket session if they plan on hiring at all this year?
Thank You
If you hear it here it’s at best a speculation or hearsay for “reading between the lines” of some company com. Your best source is the gateway manager. Good luck.

I dont know the specifics of your program, but I'd imagine youre pretty safe since you are a gateway hire with an offer. I would think you're first in the bucket to get a class. Our VP of Flight Ops has mentioned several times, that they will likely hire likely mid to late summer. This hiring will assist with getting pilots on the line while there are lot of guys in the training cycle.

Fake news regarding UAL, if it matters. UAL is 130ish per seat now in CLE - total of about 260 active pilots. Nearly half of the FOs have about 2.5 years or less...

more than LAX or EWR here.

Go to UA I don’t know why you would commute when you can drive to base for a better ran airline.
