Hey again B6 friends,

Sorry to start another thread. I appreciate the pros and cons weighed in the thread I started back in December…outsider looking in.
I’m still at SKW. Optimistically thinking if I get on at B6 this year I’d likely be commuting from CLE. I’d be open to commuting to whatever base is easiest at the start…so…what would you guys say?

Honestly, I’d go JFK. There’s quite a few BOS commuters in CLE, and in the summer those flights can be pretty full. I feel like LGA/JFK/EWR always have seats, though New York weather can suck more. But you’ll also move up “more quickly” in New York.

I wouldn’t consider any other base commutable from Cleveland. Hope we hire this year!

 

Yup. More ways to get into JFK, while it’s also our jr 320 base.

 

Doesn’t United have a base there? ….that would be my goal in your shoes.

I would guess maybe a token class or two. Likely from the pool, if we even have one.

 

Personal opinion is that attrition will be high towards the end of the year. So a few classes.


plenty of guys holding on to legacy cjos with late class dates, and a good chunk of pilots will probably be putting apps out here shortly.

 

Last I heard, the CLE base only had about 80 pilots

 

UAL’s CLE base is pretty small and pretty senior. He also didn’t ask about UAL, nor Frontier, who also has a pilot base there. He asked about Jetblue, presumably for a reason.

 

Hey Guys, I have been a silent reader of almost all the B6 related posts here.
I am also trying to find out realistically if the company will be hiring this year or not. I am part of the gateway program and hold a B6 CJO, I had a class date for last year but that was canceled and since then just one email from gateway manager stating no hiring for Q1 and Q2 of 2025.

One of the B6 captains mentioned that company will start hiring in June (this was before the results for the displacement bid came out) but idk how accurate is that statement because when I read the comments here it seems like training department will be busy training the displaced pilots and it doesn't seem to be a need for new pilots.
Do you guys have any insight on that or if someone here can ask in the next pocket session if they plan on hiring at all this year?
