Default Transatlantic flying

Simply out of curiosity, how does JetBlue build their transatlantic sequences. Are they just 2 legs or are they paired with more domestic flying?

Only 2 legs and 90% 3 day trips. Some pairings are still 2 legs, but a 48 vs a 24 hour layover. Occasionally to balance credit there will be a DHD to start or finish. You’d DHD from JFK to BOS, then 1 leg out and 1 leg back into JFK from the EU or any other variant of that.

EU bid group can’t bid for or be awarded domestic flying. If the reserve grid allows it you could swap an EU trip for a domestic trip. You can always pick up domestic from open time if there isn’t a conflict.

Conversely, Domestic line holders cannot bid EU trips either. It is a subset within the JFK and BOS bases that you bid for on vacancy bids.

Thread created right after hearing how TATL is doing. So I will say, it's good to hear that our experiment of the transatlantic flying is doing so well. 2nd most profitable region in the system now. Will be interesting to see who we are by 2027 with the domestic mint, partnership, reduced P&W headwind etc.
