I'd go with the E190 in BOS for a few years then bid to the 320 when you can hold a LGB line, unless you have family in LGB or don't mind commuting to the crash pad Reserve life for a while.

Well put. Also remember that summer flying adds a lot of lines. In March the junior line was at 1925 expect it to go back to near that in the slow months. There are a lot if senior LGB FOs bidding to JFK & BOS and even a few LGB Captain spots.

A lot probably depends on when you come in and when you finish up training. If you finish IOE right before spring or summer, you're more likely to hold a line since the flying increases. Finish late summer or early Fall, you'll probably hold a line in December and on the bubble/back to reserve in January depending on how many guys come in behind you.

190 still seems to be the fastest way to holding a line, but if you want FLL or LGB, I'd still try to bid the Bus and suck it up on reserve in JFK or BOS. From the way things have been going, it seems you an get FLL or LGB earlier than the 2 year equipment lock on the 190. For that fact, I could have even held MCO 320 FO on the supplemental, but I was equipment locked on the 190 for another 6 days after the effective date of the bid. That and reserve in base with few to no red eyes really has me spoiled. :)

Fyi- I did 3 months on reserve on the JFK 320 and held at least a move up line since. Now many more senior fos are bidding south and the belt is moving well.

Anyone know where we are at with IOE? Not sure what class they are working on now for the 190.

any hiring coming up the jet blue site shows nothing

Class 10-18 has 20 pilots. All will be in the Airbus, either JFK (12) or BOS (8).

No no... That's how long the company hopes the new hires stay until. Like a ummmm, ROIC for employees.
