They do hire Cape Air guys. Pretty sure those aren't Jets on the wing.

Good point. I'll go get more coffee now.....

Anyone else having trouble getting the application to come up on the Work Here portion of the website? I figured it might be because the window is not open yet, or maybe I'm just not as smart as I think I am.

Btw, I'm from and live in Boston... Is it true what they say?

Thanks

jetBlue Hiring

The work here portion was going under Maintence from the IT department , they sent out a email just today or a few days ago mentioning this. Could lead to why some of you maybe be having problems .

Good luck, keep trying.

All the Cape Air guys hired here are part of the university gateway program. They've basically been on a multi-year interview. I believe there's a jet transition course they must pass prior to being hired by JetBlue.

Military and 121 glass jet time is a vast majority of the new hires backgrounds.

Any word on an exact date for the July window?

I did some checking around an a bud of mine who seems pretty connected gave me some intel (not sure if all is correct, but past info seemed to pan out):

Window to open likely the last week of July and will be open for a couple weeks. Those with an application in the last window, but who haven't been called yet, will get advance notice via email about the window opening. They will need to "reapply" to the new posting, but if they have a current profile, it is a fairly easy process. Those who do not have an application on file yet, can fill out a profile any time and then apply to the first officer posting when it goes live.

As for those in phase 2, the Pilot Hiring Commitee (PHC) is meeting every 1-2 weeks to review those whose backgrounds have been completed, and they have finished through March 19. An email will go out soon to those who have passed the review and are in queue for a class (as July class is now full, and the wait for classes could be a while). Those in March 20 and beyond have not yet been reviewed, but will be soon. They are not reviewing any files until backgrounds are complete and the file ready to look at in its entirety and they are doing reviews in chronological order.

I did ask about these supposed phone calls and what those meant. Apparently those were update calls just to let guys know where they were in the process, and IF they passed the PHC review, when they could expect class dates. There seems to be many who thought that because backgrounds had been completed that it meant they had been reviewed, and that is not the case, as PHC had not met yet to review them. Backgrounds completed just means that the background paperwork was all in, but not reviewed yet.

The PHC doesn't review until all backgrounds are in, and the review is much more than just backgrounds, but is is the "whole package" including the "combination" of currency, training failures, interview scores, references and if everything matches up.

They also said that starting soon once guys have passed the phase 2 process (and get the email on that fact), they will begin getting regular updates on class size and approximate wait for a class date.

I also asked about the supposed survey, and was told that is completely unrelated to pilot hiring, and is something sent to anybody who applied to any position this year. Apparently this month they just changed leadership of the whole hiring team and the new guy wants to know all the areas that need to be fixed. At least they know that they need to fix lots of things, and hopefully we will all see lots of improvements soon.

Again - I don't know if this info is accurate or not, but my bud has been spot on so far.
