Anyone have any intel on what happens if you get recommended for an interview out of ViB but did not get called to interview for the 15 December interview slot they mentioned at ViB? Could I potentially hear something for next round of interviews?

From the spring (March) VIB a few guys I know got called for summer interviews and a few were later. I wouldn't sweat it if you didn't get called immediately, a few others and I had to wait until the fall to get called.
I'd guess that if, in your 1v1, they hinted that you'd get a call, or outright said it-you probably will...just maybe not tomorrow.

I was sept 29th interview and was offered dec. 2nd, but had to defer. They mentioned on the phone that jan 6th is a small class and is pretty much full with guys that defered before me. And jan 20th also has deferments before me, and I might make it into that class, if not the 20th, then definitely a feb class. I received this phone call about a week before thanksgiving.
