Question 20,000lbs restriction

Jet Blue peeps...

How solid is the requirement for 1000 hours in a/c over 20,000 lbs, or 12,500 in turbojet? I meet and exceed all your company's requirements, but because the majority of my time is in small Air Force jets, the only number I don't meet is the aforementioned ones.

I guess I am hoping for good news, even though I'm sure its a minimum with your company for a reason... and why is that when no other airline i can find has that same restriction?

Thanks

What do you fly that does not have a max gross take-off weight of 20,000lbs? Every fighter in the AF inventory has that. T-37s? Max gross take-off is the criteria. You should have no problem meeting the mins.

Default you got it

Yeah I flew T-37's (about 6500lbs max TO weight) and T-38's (just over 12,000 lbs max TO weight). So there lies the problem. I just transfered to the reserves and am finishing up training on the C-130 (so I have all of about 20 hours).

So like I said, I have the hours, but not the 1000 in the specific weight classes JetBlue wants. Am I screwed until I can get 1000 in the Herc? That will take about 2 years.

Just want to know if I should move past JetBlue, or if it is still an option?

Thanks

Sounds like you spent all your active time in the training command? I'd say it is a problem for you at JB, since most of the thousands of applicants do in fact meet that criteria, and exceed them significantly. It will be interesting to see how the minimum requirements hold up for the E190, though.

Good luck.
