Yes, it's probably amazing if you live in middle of nowhere Indiana where you can live like a king, but some people refuse to put themselves through the torture of commuting.

That's by definition not poverty. If you want to see poverty look at that actual number. Look I totally get it. I want to live great not average as well. Point is 130K a year puts you in the top 10% of income earners in the US despite where you live. There's plenty of people living in NYC at an income below 130K. What you're saying is that your money doesn't go very far in certain locales but that dosen't mean it's a poverty wage. I've seen poverty first hand. It's not 130K; it's deciding between food or medicine.

Live in base usually credit around 85 with about 17 days off.

I have no doubt that if you live in any of our bases you can have a pretty good QOL here. I'm a 15+ month guy on property and can't even hold a friggin' line or even a hybrid/move-up in our most junior Bus base  They keep jacking up the number of reserves and we run new-hire classes with 5 people... Regardless, I guess I'll enjoy my weekends off for now and my few "extra" days at home I get on LCR if it happens, because looking at the junior line awards it makes me want to throw up... but hey, I guess I won't have to be tied to my phone anymore and have scheduling rule my life and check the stupid DRO every day at noon... when it's actually published on-time.

I rarely check the DRO anymore, unless I need to check if I'm the prime target for an open trip, otherwise JEtcrw app is quicker.

Be careful with the Jetcrew app. I looked at it one day saw the REL and high tailed it over to the airport. As I was sitting there waiting on my commute home to board I decided to check out the DRO just to be safe. To my surprise I was assigned 0330 SCL on the DRO and my Jetcrew showed REL till a little after 1500. Make sure you're covering yourself every time!

The reason I check the DRO is to make sure they did it right and followed the rules, because I've caught them messing it up a couple of times that gave me an extra day at home or a later start time.

Read the thread buddy. At my last airline it changed from free to $50 per rider, up to a max of $250. That may no longer be true, but it was when I was there.

I'm not at a Delta regional, but even if my regional charged that I would gladly pay it. The amount of international business class travel I've done this year alone would have cost thousands with Zed fares and I wouldn't even have gotten business

I did pay it. I thought it was ridiculous to pay for a seat that should be for free given that it's going to be empty if a non-rev doesn't sit there. I'm fine with paying a fee for business class (United). But for Delta regionals we had to pay the fee even to just jumpseat due to how the system worked.

Anywho, you guys are missing the point entirely. My point was that some carriers charge fees (Delta), some require cleaning (JetBlue). Personally, I prefer to straighten a few seat belts as a courtesy to the crew that carried me rather than pay the corporation any money for flying in a seat that would be empty anyway. But that's just me.

Moreover, it is now ALPA, which is the country club of choice for several established "majors." So, my hope is that we will be merged with or bought by one of the others. Then, at least I will retain some of my accrued seniority when the lists merge, vs starting over from the bottom. (Unless we're stapled, but I don't think that is allowed anymore.) Seeing that we strive to be a thorn in the side of the legacies, I could see one of them saying enough is enough, and just taking us outright.

You are out of your frikkin mind if you are hoping to get bought or merged and think that will help your situation.
