Phone call from Crew Services :00
+:15 minutes , Return their call (FSM)
However long it takes for them to answer, +:00 to the usual :20+ minutes. NOW it's positive contact. (FSM)

Your 2:00 starts now...to report, not departure.
flight crew will be given NO LESS than :30 minutes for flight deck prep (FOM)

People on board. Best pilot sitting next to you did everything...DOESN'T MATTER. 30 MINUTES from your show time is the least the company can reduce the departure time(FOM). You need more then 30 minutes? I'm sure you wouldn't hear anything from the suits if you took 45 minutes. Over an hour, I think you'd get a call the next day.

Good luck

that boy good!

true story.

don't forget to comply and check and be comprehensive on all email changes.

To add... Rushing leads to making mistakes. Fact of life. The company loves to add external pressures (lately the gate agents are the primary cause, even when you're not in this late callout situation), and this will be the time you missed something and it is your a$$ on the line physically and legally, not theirs. Take your full 2 hours and your full 30 min prep. Not to mention you're not fit for duty if you're scatterbrained from your mad rush or you haven't taken time to address your nutritional needs.

Exactly.

I had this happen. Long story but CS AO GO all in a rush but not me.
Just follow the rules that is all there is too it.

Knowing the rules is EVERYTHING! Everyday, I expect CS to put me into a situation that is just out of the parameters of the FSM. They will let you agree with them, and then you're having to back out of what you've agreed to.

I've had rush situations when I didn't know any better.

I've had discussions with CS on why I was being asked to report to a DH that left in 45 minutes when we just made positive contact?

Ive had CS put a trip into CrewTrac that had a departure time that was within 2 hours of my starting RAP time. I saw the 2 hours time was good, ack it and then realized that was departure time not report. Called them and they said I acknowledged it so, too bad so sad. I replied thats pretty sneaky and against the rules. I was put on hold and the trip was removed. Of course the called me 2 hours later for a legal trip. Why wouldn't they?

But, I've never yelled at CS. Never been unprofessional. Never been belligerent. Never. No matter how much steam was coming out of my ears while I waited on hold. Its an action of futility and one that hurts you as a professional and the group as a whole.
