So a January window which was open for about a month and 3 months later another window is opening? Ruh roh. Supply and demand can be a real ***** sometimes.

That's correct. What I do know is that some of the people who were invited to this event next week have also been extended an invitation to interview a couple days after the event.

Sounds about right. I know that JetBlue is hosting a special event at OSC next week for those attending the WAI Conference in Orlando. As someone who attended WAI in Orlando three years ago, I can tell you this wasn't offered then. Times are changing.

Wow, that'd be interesting. Hope you guys are right. Things are definitely in the mix right now.

Back in 06-08 maybe earlier but that's when I was paying attention, we did these meet and greets at the OSC. It was kind of a mini interview. In very short order many of us were in class.

That is correct. Interview offers were extended to some individuals after they accepted the WIA meet and greet invite.

We still do Vets in Blue. IMHO its the best recruiting event that JetBlue has......Its always in November and usually one in March as well. Not this year though.....

Moving away from the ex-Mil hiring?

Two questions:
1) I updated my profile and saw my application was "expired" does that mean the window is closed? and if so do I submit again or wait till window reopens

2) How do you get an invite to the Vets in Blue thing? I hear about it but figuring out how to attend is a complete mystery

Thanks in advance

1) "Expired" doesn't matter. If you submitted in the most recent window (which is closed), it is fair game for review/call for an interview. Some people don't get called for 4-6 months after the window closes. The windows are usually twice a year, for a couple weeks at a time. You can (and should if you want to get an interview) continue to update your hours in your profile. The frequency with which you update the profile is a metric used to call for an interview, fwiw. Updating every week or two seems to be the norm with people who were hired when I was a year or so ago.

2) VIB is for anyone with an application in the most recent window who indicated they were a veteran. That should automatically generate an invitation to attend VIB.

I've heard it means Meets Qualifications/Preferred Qualifications, however I logged on and it's missing from this recent windows app. It's there for all the previous ones. All previous apps information requests read "First Officer MQ/PQ" yet this one just reads "First Officer" Just making sure my application isn't glitched and won't throw mine out because it thinks I don't meet a qualification

I have the same , and also in one of my previous app couple years ago shows "OFCCP Pre-Offer Self-Identification Request" any idea of this?.. I never had a call or e-mail from them. that was on 03/2015

I wrote letters of rec for two highly qualified retired military dudes that went to the Vets in Blue last March. . . neither of them heard a peep from JB afterwards. They are at FedEx and United now. . . One could argue that JB came out ahead because they would have ended up at FedEx/UAL eventually. But in this hiring environment, JB needs to be in the game if they want to have a chance to win. They are not in the game, in my opinion.
