I wrote letters of rec for two highly qualified retired military dudes that went to the Vets in Blue last March. . . neither of them heard a peep from JB afterwards. They are at FedEx and United now. . . One could argue that JB came out ahead because they would have ended up at FedEx/UAL eventually. But in this hiring environment, JB needs to be in the game if they want to have a chance to win. They are not in the game, in my opinion.
Anecdotally, I know 2 highly qualified retired AF guys who went into Phase II, and accepted jobs at other majors before they passed Phase II. Both put pictures up on Facebook and changed their LinkedIn profiles when they got their job offer, and both got a "you are no longer in consideration for this position" emails from B6 within a couple weeks. Until we get a competitive contract, the reality is we'll probably hemorrhage year 1 guys who are competitive elsewhere, and this may just be the companies way of mitigating that loss. |

Five types, part 135 and part 121 captain time, volunteering on every day off, safety department work and being black/female/transgender.... It wouldn't surprise me.

There's probably some metrics involved here from the hiring committee. If they've hired X number of people with these quals in the last couple years, and 95% of X have left to go somewhere else, they might be gun shy about wasting the interview and training slot on them.

Theyll have a TA just in time for a record # of cancellations in the summer of '18. |
I remember my first instructor during IOE at Eagle telling me: "stay out of the crew room, nothing positive happens in there." He was a genius.
I was hoping a few of the more well adjusted members on this forum can answer some questions I have about working conditions. What do your trips look like? At mid range seniority, how many days off per month? How long for an A320 in BOS? How does RSV work? Are there any minimum hours of pay per day? Can someone (or a few people) post their schedule or direct me to where I can view some samples? Maybe a bidding packet. Thank you Feel free to answer in the forum as I'm sure others have similar questions. |
15/16 days off 80 hours credit during non summer months 13 days off 80-85 hours credit during summer

Competitive is difficult to nail down. During the last window Jetblue had less than 2000 applications. Of that number less than 1000 were qualified. Of that number half may have been considered competitive. So few applicants were selected the window was reopened a few weeks later. |
