Why is that? You don’t think that it is important? You don’t think we haven’t done this before? You don’t think we are a “big” enough company that we would have protocols in place to keep our crews safe?

maybe he just didn’t want to deal with 270 pax for 9 hours knowing we don’t have flight attendants.

Or maybe he has a young family at home with kids that might have certain conditions where becoming ill is especially to be avoided. Some say this coronavirus can take up to two weeks before symptoms are shown.
In my opinion, it isn't about fear, it is about risk mitigation.
It is a decision I cannot make myself to volunteer, it is a joint family decision in my case. It is something I'd be proud to do.

You do know that this is voluntary don’t you? Just like the Ebola flight were last time. As far as dealing with passengers I wouldn’t imagine how we would have to. Our airflow is not completely separate on the upper deck but for the most part it is. I wouldn’t want to break that seal by opening the door. The door will be locked anyway for security purposes. Your point on risk mitigation is very valid. Bill, in you case I would say no go. In my case, no kids, single, healthy it would be a go.

I completely agree with you and Locke. However that was not the tone expressed by the post above. Perhaps it is another one of these generation things. I believe in service even if comes with a risk, as long as I can balance. On the other hand, if you volunteered I would be on the phone with you attempting to talk you out of it.

Many thanks to all at K4 who helped to bring our fellow countrymen and families home.
