Here comes my two cents
Puck Hawg, stay where you’re at and continue to apply. There maybe something on your resume or application not glaring at you but them. Have someome review yout “stuff”. Perhaps get into check and training or be a mentor or something to add to your app/resume. Update once a month and keep your times and logbook current and clean. If you don’t have a degree, GET ONE. If your not vaccinated, GET ONE. Maybe volunteer in a fire department. It maybe your resume, please don’t take this personally, is just a bit stale.
As far as ACMI. It sort of looks good and sounds exciting but trust me, it can be hell, especially now depending on what part of the world you go. Hong Kong you say, get ready for the nightmare going there right now. You ever been up for three days and 12 time zones and been on an aircraft for 30 hours. It gets old and quick! You’ll have to decide if commuting to a U.S. place, to stay in the U.S.,Trumps, see what I did there, going to Africa in the middle of the night and wait for them to show up and load to then fly for 12+ hours. If you’re not doing split duties and fly during the daylight only (mostly) keep that job! Commuting sucks but so does China. Regionals can suck but trust me brother SO CAN ACMI. Ask yourself if you think that is what will shine on your app/resume and get in line with everyone else, like you are now but you maybe farther ahead than you think. Starting over maybe a bad idea. Back on probation and training and some of that ACMI flying is challenging. So if you’re just bored, find something to fill the void but seriously have a real think before going ACMI. One night at the sort in CVG will cure you and imagine a week or month of it! Good luck |

Give it a rest
Riverside, I think you’re an Ozzie so go back to Oz and give your nonsense a rest. Get a girlfriend and switch to decaf MATE.

Oh boy
So RS, you had nothing better to do than comment on something that had nothing to do with you, you don’t work for Connie and you dragged your wife into your mess. You must be a treat to fly with and live with cause your a clown. PMing me with nonsense and even though I told you to F off, you just can’t help yourself. You’re an ass hat bud.

Hey Braniff, thanks for the response. I’ve been here at K4 for a few years now. My regional went tits up shortly after I left, so it worked out. I enjoy it so far, love not dealing with passengers, but I don’t want to work 16 days a month for the rest of my career. Now, if either of the big box haulers don’t call, I’ll be happy to stay here. If I have ever needed anything, the company has always been there to help. You definitely work like a dog, and exhaustion and fatigue is a daily occurrence. I love the money, but 13 hr layovers in ICN get old in a hurry.
China sucks. No question about it. I know it really sucks for those guys on the 777 with Australia. All that being said, I’m still thankful for the opportunity to work here and for the most part, the crews have been great. |
