Default Current upgrade time at Kalitta

Hey there, I was just wondering how long it takes to hold Captain currently I know this can change but just want to get a general idea of what to expect

Its closer to 4 years now, was around 3.5 hrs but its slowly getting longer . Hasnt been a upgrade bid notice sent out in 2025 (yet), last one was August 2024

That's how long it takes to check that you have a pulse and get sized for a uniform

No
They call PIC upgrades at the same time, the upgrade list last week had 20 each type, its been that way for the last couple of years, although the previous upgrade (last year) was more towards the 777 since the -300s were arriving finally....the 747 side is just to replace retirements.

This week's upgrade bid (the first one since last summer) awarded captain slots for both fleets to pilots with three years, nine months on property. Other than a massive 777 upgrade bid several years ago with no equivalent 747 one, the two fleets have stayed fairly close in that respect, or at least closer than I'd expected.

How so? Too short?

Upgrades can only occur if 1. Fleet size is increased or 2. People leave in high numbers. If neither happens then...................
