"the older people I know are busy with their KIDS and FAMILY .. "

I don't know, bro, seems like the pro-family guys are right here along with me calling me all sorts of names and such. Anyhow, it's been fun. I'm off reserve in the morning and will have something better to do for a couple of weeks. See ya then.....

"Still waiting, how many reserve days do you work a month?"

Slow down from the foaming at the mouth vitriolic flamebait and read post 128, will ya.

the older people I know are busy with their KIDS and FAMILY
Good Lord thats low......but if you are going to throw that crap out than........what are you?

A teenage girl?

Or a washed up bitter old man that wishes he was a Captain at UPS and is only jealous of de727ups?

Is it really any concern of yours if he has a KID or a FAMILY...or are you just throwing that out because you have nothing better to add?

That was a rhetorical question......we all know you must have nothing better to add.

Give the man a break already....these personal attacks on an anonymous board only reflect the immaturity and jealousy that you guys feel.

I dont think de727ups should be posting on here unless he has something that will actually help someone leaving the career either....some of his posts earlier in this thread really ticked me off.

But whats with all the personal attacks......???

Making it to UPS or FedEx is a bit like making it to the NFL. Every college player thinks they are going to but most don't. So using UPS as your financial/lifestyle yardstick is a bit misleading, sort of like saying that there is good money in football.

shane123 08-11-2008 08:14 PM

Ahhh...now I see.

ny311....

If I made $300k + a year I don't think I'd sit in front a computer every day and night to argue with other people about my job, I'd probably be out enjoying life or finding new hobbies on my time off... Or maybe I'd have a family and other people around me to spend that money with... but then again that's just me..
You"re pretty darn worried about his hobbies...why dont you get one? Or do you enjoy worrying about his too much that you dont have time for one?

But you're right....that is just you...cuz no one gives a sh*t what you would do with 300K.

I'm in my 20's, it is normal for people my age to be online a lot, the older people I know are busy with their KIDS and FAMILY .. what do you get out of arguing with all the guys on this forum about how much you make and how you are CAptain America? Does that raise your testosterone levels? plz:rolleyes:
Is it normal? I dont have a facebook or a myspace and I am 20 years old. I would rather f*ck my girlfriend buddy.

What do you get out of having a UFC avatar...does it raise your testosterone levels? Huh there Chuck Liddell? Na.....you're more the Tito Ortiz type.....big mouth, never shuts up and never ever has anything meaningful to say...while he gets his a$$ stomped.

Sorry to stoop to this level...I know its an anonymous message board and I know de727ups doesnt need me to defend him, but you strike me as the idiot that joins the conversation with nothing worth listening too.....just so he can pile it on and join the winning team.

You know...kinda like a bunch of middle school kids picking on someone...so you join the group just to get your little 2 cents in?

I re-read it, great. Does not answer the questions.

A simple answer would be 14,16,18, something like that. All I see is you saying two weeks. Of course you can't do that with 1 off in 7 calendar days so unless you're getting 24 hours somewhere, that of course doesn't work either. Or new exaggeration...you only work 12 days for real. Is that it?

I mean geez, why avoid this one? How many days a month are you required to be on duty on reserve? Nice simple answer.

Almost forgot, does UPS have a no fly list? That one must have slipped your mind.

Back to mouth foaming now. I haven't a clue what flamebait is.

I completely lost you guys about 4 pages ago.....can't we all just get along?

Rnav 08-12-2008 07:09 AM

Sure we can all get along and we should strive too. My point with addressing Capt.'s comments is to point out that he is hurting the motivation for people to post by criticizing alternate careers. If he was actually debating like he claims that would be one thing, but he's not. People need jobs and he's just criticizing them. The only people it hurts are the APC'ers who might need a job and want to find out more info.

Its great he's a Captain at a company that is making money and is getting paid. Hell, we should all applaud an aviator who makes it to the top in this messed-up industry. But, Its just sad that someone at the top of the game would continually criticize those at the bottom trying to survive and pay the bills.

Personally I'll leave this alone and let the thread get back on track...

You all know the monkey game, right?
Corporate Monkey Games.

The monkey that climbs the highest in the tree, looks up and sees the top and the sunshine.
When he looks down, he sees all the desperate other monkey faces beneath him. Some smile, and some are looking sad.

But those beneath, look up, and all they usually see is an A$$!
You guys just dislike de727 because he fails to fall for these stupid "my dick is bigger than yours" games.

Almost like skyhigh asking people how much 121 experience they have, when he's the one that still trashes aviation related forums with his emotional B/S about how much he would have loved to... but was conspired against by this cruel industry. If he was doing all that well - like Tony Macarony (RIP) he would not waste his time with all this "airplane driver stuff". How about a job agency for tired airline pilots?

Getting a life is the first step in becoming better. There are hundreds of jobs outside of aviation. Go get em! You ain't finding them here!

LabMonkey76 08-15-2008 10:50 PM

I can't believe I just read 16 pages of this and the only ideas I got were traveling nurse and cop.

And even if we could all see the UPS math what would it matter, even if de727ups was off by say around 30% and only made $208,000 it would still have been a relative response to the monetary challenge.

The question is, other than a traveling nurse or a cop, what could I do other than fly if the day came when I was booted out the bottom, or I decided I no longer wanted to fly? How did you get into that career, what is the QOL like and what does it pay?

I tend to send a resume, get an interview... you get the drift.
If you select janitor, bugwasher or working for a traveling circus, your QOL may vary. Pay is usually negotiated.

This whole forum section is senseless, it appears.
