Default Second Jobs

I am a currently furloughed and I am looking into going back to school in order to secure a better job for now. I would like to get into a field that I could still work part-time once I start flying again. Any suggestions? Maybe some sort of IT work? Thanks!

Don't do it. Once your realize how much you can get paid in another line of work you will never return to flying.

Gigolo. It's easy work, pays alright, plus it makes the overnights go by faster.

Use your noodle. What do you like to read about, or do with your time off?
Do you have an interest that can earn money?
Getting some kind of hokey degree in todays economy is not the right anwer, just ask all the 20 somethings that are 40-80K in debt with BS art degrees. Are they working?

It sounds morbid, but if you already have two years of college done (it just about any major) go to mortuary school! Get licensed in your state and when you go back to flying you can trade embalm for funeral homes in your area. I give afew places my schedule for the month and their full time staff take time off when Im off from flying. I can do a prep job in about an hour and a half and it's $200. If restorative art is involved $200 + $75 and hour. AS I said it may sound funny and morbid, but the checks come in handy. I've had a few moths when I check has come in I get the "Why are you wasting your life with flying" lecture!
