Just wanted to share that I had a phone interview yesterday lasting about 1.5 hours, it was based on KSA's.
It was 10 questions...........
I had no idea it was coming, so no prior prep time.
So anyone who has applied can expect either a face to face or a phone call interview.

I had that interview and thought I did a poor job. I was surprised they offered me the job. The 10 questions are not the usual "tell me when you had an asshat Captain type stuff", similar but not aviation based. They want them answered in a certain order kind of like, describe the situation, how did you deal with it, what was the outcome. They warn that you have 1 hour to answer them or the interview is done. It`s kind of strange in that the question is asked, his side of line goes dead silent and you just have to talk with no input from the interviewer. Pleasant interviewer and we talked for quite a while after the questions were answered

That is the government way of interviewing.
No undue 'influence' from the INTERVIEWER.
Eeryone gets the same shot.

Not for this position - but our technical interview for my job was the same.
The interviewer even 'apologized' up front for soundingobot like a robot.
He said he could repeat the question, but could give no further clarification or answer any other question.

The interviewer was really nice, but those parameters I found strange. It`s an awkward feeling just blabbing on with no feedback of any sort.

Yeah it is definitely the most awkward interview experience you'll probably ever have. I walked out of there thinking there was no way in the world I'd get the job, yet here I am. The good part is there literally are no tricks to it. They just want you to answer the question and nothing more. Looking back on it, it was kind of nice not to feel like every question was some kind of gotcha or puzzle, which is what so many HR interviews feel like.

At least the FAA interview hasn't devolved into the HR gamesmanship fiasco that now envelops the airlines. No BS "Hogan Test" and no going into a room while they play silly games. And it's not a beauty contest either where how you coordinated your suit and shoes gets graded.

The takeaway of the 10 questions is they just want to hear you talk about yourself. And the flight test portion is just basic airmanship.

I interviewed in person and the interviewers acknowledged the awkward nature of the interview for someone who's interviewed in the airline industry. They were sympathetic but also incredibly disciplined about the format. I had respect for the way they stuck to the format while I rambled and looked confused for an hour.

My interview was 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for an answer. I guess they have to interview everyone who was referred during the same period as me. Since my interview was done before the application window closed and then the holidays I guess it's possible that persons could have applied after I interviewed and had a delay in their interview due to the holidays.
