I do it myself.

I don't scoff his success in his chosen career, I scoff his opinions about my choice of career. He seems to be doing quite well in supporting his family, but he quit aviation, and seems to want to steer as many people away as he can -- a strange coping mechanism, if you ask me.

Are you blind? We all scoff him.

What's REALLY classy is one Moderator deriding another in public.

.
Can you show me where we scoff Sky's reality business?
Where we debuke Sky is his continously insulting anyone in the pilot profession. I've asked this many times - maybe you'll take up the challenge.
I'd like you to admit that you are a terrible parent, selfish spouse, and have a personality disorder for chosing a career in aviation TonyC.
Try to keep up.

Aww, gee, golly, I'll try to keep up. Maybe I should do a quick review.

I didn't even know SkyHigh had a reality business. Does he have a show on cable, a major network, or a syndicate, or is it more of a local thing?

I am aware that he dabbles a bit in real estate. That would be a realty business. I'm assuming you meant to say,
"Can you show me where we scoff Sky's realty business?"
And that's where I respond, can you show me where I said you scoff SkyHigh's realty business?

You can't. Just as a reminder, this is what you said about scoffing:

I responded because that is patently false. Everyone scoffs SkyHigh ... well, almost everyone. It's practically the official APC pastime. If I'm not mistaken, scoffing SkyHigh is a candidate for the next summer Olympics. It will be an exhibition sport in 2014 in Rio, and we'll try to get it in as an actual competition in 2018 in Tokyo.

But it's sort of like Tic-tac-toe. It's fun for kids, or to play with kids, but once you've grown up, it gets kind of boring. All the insults have been exchanged, all the arguments have been made, all of the moves and combinations of moves have been made over and over and over. At some point, it just becomes a silly waste of time.

Debuke? Is that a city in Iowa?

Continously? Can I find that in the Urban dictionary? Are you trying to impress us with your literary skill by using words we cannot possibly understand?

Perhaps you rebuke SkyHigh for his continuously insulting pilots?

So, you don't scoff, but you rebuke? I'm sure (I hope) you know that a rebuke is a sharp disapproval or criticism, whereas a scoff is making fun of or making light of. In other words, a rebuke is much more harsh than a scoff. So, you don't scoff SkyHigh, you rebuke him -- a much harsher treatment.

I must confess, you make it hard to keep up with arguments like that.

If I was chosing a career, it wouldn't be a personality disorder -- it would be a lack of 6th-grade grammar skills.

SkyHigh's insults don't bother me personally. As a partner, parent, and provider for my family, I am confident that I am doing just fine. If -- big if -- IF I suffered from insecurity issues, I might be offended by some of his wild accusations. He seems to have pricked your ego. Does he really bother you that much?

Now, what was that you said?

Looks all good.
My problems with SkyHigh's post are well documented.
Thanks for the corrections TonyC.
Maybe next time you can even type them out for me

That's in the Medal Round. To qualify, competitors scoff the guy who cursed all chickens because he couldn't lay an egg.

Hey Tom, be careful of any scolding or scoffing on the Forums or you'll get a nasty, hate-filled, delusional, psychotic PM, like I did. I would be all crushed by the content, but I can't take it seriously because it was written in such poor English as to be essentially incomprehensible.

Life must suck to be so insecure.

TonyC, that was beyond funny. Classic smackdown.

Default Over Dramatization

To All:

As I have written many times before, "if you are currently a professional pilot who has reached an airline or some other equivalent form of professional aviation, then by all means press on". Confirmed self absorbed bachelors who are married to the sky need not concern themselves with what I write. It is not intended for you. My perspective is for those who still have something left of their lives to salvage; the young, those who possess more than one interest in life, and people who are not fully invested yet. (Joke) (Sarcasm) (Comedy) (Truth)

"Only a few of my graduation class ever made it in aviation. The rest are all happy and successful." - Skyhigh

If you have a great job flying a big jet someplace overseas then bully for you. The rest of us have friends, families, homes, and concerns about our financial futures. Some here claim that my efforts on APC are a coping mechanism. I can say the same for those who get so angry when I expose the high costs of a life in the sky. My writings must pierce the veil of denial and make it difficult to avoid the sting of the opportunity cost, it is best to place me on the "Ignore" list and press onto 65 years old and judgement day. The moment when aviation leaves you behind and the reality of what you sacrificed your life for comes rushing in.

Young people need to know what they are getting into free from false glamour and Captain Ahab's trying to beckon another generation into the abyss.

Default School Bus Driver

I had an applicant recently who is a school bus driver. He makes more than I did as a regional FO and only works 80-100 hours a month, has full benefits including retirement, good job security, and his employer paid for his CDL. Two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. Every weekend, holiday and most of the summer off.

He makes more than most current regional FO's and does not carry the burden of student loans either. Not a bad ROI. Perhaps this guy could replace mailmen as low cost of entry careers to compare against?

Skyhigh

School bus driver as a career? seriously? Great for retired people or those without too much ambition.
