Earpiece Molds - Recommendations?

Self molding kit via mail versus having a guy do the mold in a store?
Cost?
Quality and support if something breaks?

Got one from pilotstuff.com a few months ago. Self mold. They have many options. Great quality. I was very satisfied.

They are an off shoot of a larger company, Avery Sound which does all kinds of earpieces, etc.

Since I had no issues, can't speak to customer service if there is an issue with your earmold when you get it.

Price was in the normal range. How fast/what kind of shipping you choose can obviously move the price point higher.

I was just replacing an 18 plus year earmold and wasn't in a hurry so used standard shipping option. Took about 2 weeks total for me.

Thanks. Is the earpiece pretty noise cancelling? I have most problem from about 10,000-high 20,000 feet when the indicated speed is up there and wind noise is a problem.
I will check it out though.

I went to a local audiologist's office and she did custom molds that work great. I couldn't trust myself to do the home kit properly so I am happy that I let the pro's take care of it. $80 and I've got a set of earpieces that will last a lifetime.

There is a place in Wisconsin that has been serving these needs for many years- mainly for TV and security professionals - It's called Audio Implements, and they are in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just outside of Milwaukee. They do quality work and I'm sure anything you buy from them will last for many years. They are compatible with headsets like telex - just make sure you tell them what connections you need. All quality. All custom. Most comfortable earpiece you'll ever wear. And keeps noise out.

Just take some candle wax, boil it, dump it into your ear. While its still hot, take the microphone piece and stick it into the ear, allowing the hot wax to surround the microphone. Let it cool before pulling it out.
