congrats.
well DMEarc I would bet anything that once you have your PIC time would'll be sending your resume to those very places you are refusing the Jumpseats. Unless you have a job secure at the majors don't type crap.

Well?
He is proud, and that is fine.
What I don't understand is why he only wavies a banner and won't share how great things are in terms of pay, work rules, benifits, etc...

The jumpseat is the Captain's. I have heard of such trouble internally, but rarely interline.

I took a job @ a non-union shop after furlough from AAA, so I can't yank your chain, but you seem way too excited about this abysmal job over at virgin. I don't know if you've ever worked for a non-union airline, but it sux....esp. compared to the union majors that are hiring today. This truly is a question and not an indictment, but can you explain what you expect life at vu to be like? I looked at their website and find the pay/benefits revolting & insulting.

VA STILL has huge hurdles to jump and they are serious ones or they would have been flying last year!
I'll give Al Gore a call. Al doesn't like CO2 emmissions. Al would be shocked to find out that foreign influenced "unnecessary" jets want to fly the USA airspace!
Go Al!

any questions.

Wow, a free magazine. That should really bring in applicants in droves....what were the pay rates again?

Gee, I wonder what FedEx was offering back in the mid 70s. Go fly a Falcon 20? What was UPS offering when it was contracted with Orion Air (I think that was the company)? How about ValuJet? How about CAL just after Lorenzo? C'mon fellas, you expect a startup to come out of the box and offer what legacies and successful LLCs have? Take a look on the airline info on this home site and see what first year narrow body captains get paid. Sure, many have rigs, but a lot don't. If they want to be able to retain their trained pilots, the package will have to improve over time with the possible succes of the airline.

Me, either. Sorry, Fred and you VA boys. Reciprocal agreements have ZERO to do with the cockpit jumpseat.
