BTW, you will be welcome in my jumpseat. We aren't going to play that game at VA. No politics in the jumpseat is the proper way to behave. Also, just about everybody here has a 10, 15 or 20 year ALPA pin at home, so we will know how to take action if the need ever arises. We are also going to have a lot of questions for the ALPA recruiters that show up.

Mr. Green Face, you have never answered any questions, so we just will write you off as the troll under the wing, all hot air and bluster.
that's because you are the one's undercutting everyone else.

like I've always said if your product is so much better people would fly you. the only reason they will though is because you are less expensive and at the cost of your employees. sad, it really is...

Default undercutting who?

Eric are you really buying into that BS on this forum? Just who is undercutting who? Who is letting RJ F/O's fly for $18 an hour and take routes from the majors? Those are the real issues.

so are you suggesting that we just throw in the towel and not fight for better wages all around. come on. I know that you and I are bitter about the rj issue but not admitting that these are poor wages is just the same as turning a blind eye to $18 hour fo's. take a look at those fo rates compared to what they were a few years ago. when jetblue undercut everyone they had 150% pay for time over 70 hours. now that's even gone. what happens in a few years when you don't upgrade to captain right away? hell I even think skyhigh wouldn't take the job if he had to sit in the right seat for 5+ years at those rates.

I'm very bitter towards ALPA and their lack of leadership or whatever you want to call it but I'm not ready to throw in the towel. we are our own worst enemy more so than management if we don't police ourselves. ie. the rj issue

Default never give up!

Eric,
No way am I suggesting to throw in the towel. Keep fighting man, but there is no need to fight VA or JB (or their pilots). These folks are just like you, trying to earn a living while pursing the best career in the world.

As a matter of fact, there is a higher likelyhood that those companies will give you second look for a job. VA will hire thousands in the next three years. Most of the F/O's will come from the regional world.

The real fight is SCOPE, regional pay, and good contracts. Tell those so- called brothers at the legacies to pay attention to what is going on.

That's better than I thought, but still abysmal. It would seem that any pilot who meets their ridiculously high minimums would apply to a company that projects past the 5 year mark and keeps the guy in the right-seat off food-stamps. If a pilot takes that job, he/she is setting himself up to be in the job market again in 5-10 years. The guy who applies undoubtedly plans on being captain. Fat, dumb and happy in the left-seat, while 5000+hrFo starve in the right seat. You'll be selling out your FO's, not to mention the rest of the industry. I should have my own jumpseat in about a year and "opportunist" will not be welcome. I'm a witness to what they've done to the CAL pilot group.

Everyone is talking like VA is up and running. Far from the case. Just because they got "tentative approval" to continue the process, doesn't mean they are going to get off the ground.....
