That all depends on how quickly you’re willing to lower your standards on a layover.

I didn’t actually read the OP... is that what you were asking?

If one lived in base with that seniority, and purposely bid reserve, would they have a good QOL if the goal was to just sit at home? How often would someone that senior be called?

Seniority at UAL only factors into picking up assignments, not getting assigned. So your chances of getting assigned are the same regardless of seniority.

Locals tend to pick up Short Calls which are used rarely. Commuters avoid them because you have to be within call out range. Some locals who could hold a line bid reserve and pick up SCs to avoid working.

SSC report has 777 reserve FO's flying on average o 20-30 hours a month.

Same at Delta and 3 years to get a 330 spot out of DTW
