Holy hell! How many times is delta going to change their paintjob? They've changed it 3 times over the past 12 years. I like what AAL has done. They've had the same paint job since 1975 (76 maybe?). I personally liked the Delta paint from the 1980s.

The thing that cracks me up about DAL is they roll out colors so often, that they hardly get a chance to paint 1/3 of their fleet before they're onto another.. so you wind up with 3 or 4 different colors going at the same time..
I'd sooner see them invest that money into their pilots contract and just keep the airplanes clean, and airworthy for now.

End of story! How are some of these airlines still in Chapter 11 and yet they can afford a $50,000 paint job for each plane? UAL is in the process of painting their planes, NWA and now DAL. I must say, great money managment! Way to hang your employees out to dry!

Airliners need repainting from time to time. Delta isn`t gonna repaint the entire fleet. However, when one needs a paint job, it`ll get the "new" one. I just hope it isn`t gonna be the one that we`ve all seen pictured. The "widget" is almost as recognizable as "Coca Cola' or "Ford' or "GE". I hope they don`t monkey around with that(again). That idiot, Mullins had the company pay a PR firm a lotta money to come up with the idea to change the "Widget" to the "Smiley Faced One". Thank goodness Grinstein and company bent to employee pressure and change it back.

Cheaper in the long wrong to have simplistic paint schemes that don't blend with doors, cowls, or radsoms. I've seen a number of DELTA birds with mixed engine cowls or radomes which look like it does not belong with the airline of professionals. Hey just think with savings in paint repairs maybe pay and benefits will be restored.
