This is nothing new in the industry right now. LCCs are sending CFIs to the Airbus. Rumors is that United will take Aviate pilots straight from the academy to mainline.

Why is it sad? If a pilot can pass the 121 training the FAA doesn’t care if they were a CFI or a Part 135 Turbine pilot. It should be a good thing that Breeze’s training department is so talented they can take a CFI and train them to fly the right seat of an A220. That says a lot about how good their training department is!

Hello, I have been considering applying to Breeze. How hard is it to get PVU as a base? If not what is the most junior base currently? Would prefer the A220 but wouldn’t mind the E-Jet. Thanks

AA posted Mins is 1500 with unrestricted ATP. So if a CFI can pop out a ATP in a Seminole real quick, they have the Mins and could be hired right seat FO of the 777

posted mins does not equal competitive mins. unless you know the CEO and /or HR director

Nobody is getting hired in into the right seat of any wide-body at AA and won't for a long time. Different situation than UA/DL which have a higher ratio of WB to NB and some different reserve rules which makes WB Reserve at the Junior bases VERY undesirable. WB FO still goes senior at AA.

When do new hire classes start each month? TIA

lowcountryfly 11-17-2022 02:39 PM

To add to the above question, how far out are classes being scheduled for those hired in the last few weeks?

Class date TBD, sometime in Q1 or Q2. The new hire will be informed of class date at approximately 45 days out. That is very fresh information.
