Default B-757/767's & MD's going to be ADS/B Modified

Just curious as to the Legacy carriers and their large numbers of older aircraft. Among the big three are your airlines going to retrofit these older hulls to meet the mandatory ADS/B requirement in 15 months or are the recent purchases of 321s and 787's merely replacements for this requirement?

Not really sure why I’m answering this but do you really think they are phasing out planes to get around a cheap ADS-B modification? If they’re phasing the older planes out I’m almost 100% sure the ADS-B requirement isn’t the reason.

I think all or most of United’s 767/757 fleet are already modified.

ADS-B expense is significant for GA, but just a bump for airlines. I’ve been told a single FMC can be $15,000.

SkyWest is putting ADS-B in CRJ-200s which as far as airliners go, are essentially worthless. There is still value left in much of the 757/767 fleet and ADS-B won't change that.
