Fat Shaming While Flying
#91
I practice intermittent fasting (IF) in a 16/8 setup. Basically I fast for 16 hours at a time with an 8 hour feeding window, ideally between noon and 8pm depending on my schedule. Definitely have noticed a ramp up in metabolism and fat burning. I try to eat home cooked unprocessed foods as much as possible, but training your body to burn more fat greatly helps to mitigate those less than optimal situations when you're stuck in a hotel with limited dining options or grabbing a quick meal at whatever is available at the airport that day. Also I like to enjoy myself and have dessert or a few beers, within reason of course. Unless you are a bodybuilder looking to pack on some serious muscle mass, IF is a great flexible dieting option.
There is a place for the odd hamburger, few beers, etc., but when you make that stuff routine, it gets out of hand fast.

I also vouch for intermittent fasting, 16/8 or 20/4, even 22/2 when I don’t have much time. It doesn’t work for everyone because you have to be comfortable with being hungry, way too many get people “hangry” or get headaches and it doesn’t work for them.

I’ll stand right on my soap box. I do agree with your point , current society has set us up for a loss with regards to weight gain. Our common foods are just terrible today . Processed foods filled with fats and sugars , carbs turning right into more sugars etc.
I get all that . However , I live in the same society as all these people and I don’t spill over into anyone else’s seat !
I work out several times a week in various forms and have been very active through my life , be it boxing , dirt bikes , gym etc. it’s simply a life style choice .
What’s also a choice is eating fast food, I ll be the first to say I love junk food !!! And I do treat my self , I just acknowledge I can’t do it everyday. Most things in moderation .
I realize there are unique people who do have physical reasons keep the weight off . THIS IS NOT MOST OF OUR SOCIETY. We simply eat worse and are less active . Mutple studies have proven this over and over again.
Various special diets work well for some not others . They aren’t all 1 size fits all . But man for so much of our society , you could simply break it down to processed foods and calories.
Not trying to fat shame . I ll be the first guy to acknowledge a heavy weight in the gym , and I always say to my self . The guys in here!!! He’s trying , more than I can say for most .
