See I really don't mind the notes. If I am sick I always go to the doctor and always get a note just in case. What I mind is when they say the call counts as an occurrence regardless of nature and you start getting phone calls from management and/ or disciplinary hearing once you accrue so many occurrences/points and warning letters are placed in your file.

Maybe it’s just my base, but I feel like the current management team at AA is really hands off with us, compared to some stories I hear from buddies at other major carriers.
Captains have told me it hasn’t always been this way, but at least right now I feel I can call in when I’d like without worrying about getting a phone call about it, let alone something stupid like needing to provide a note. |

Every one of us always has a doctor’s note in our possession . Each time you get your medical your AME (a medical doctor) signed his name on that document. The FAR’s referenced on that document state that you cannot fly in a medically deficient state. Federal law associated with the possession of a FAA medical permits you on an individual basis to determine your fitness for flight.
If your company ever asks you for a doctor’s note just send them a copy of your medical signed by your AME and remind them that they already have your “doctor’s note” on file. |

I’m not reimbursed for my time to go the doctor. If I have allergies that are blocking my sinuses and preventing me to fly, I don’t need a doctor to tell me to take Allegra. Further, that doctor visit I don’t need is going to cost me about $100-$150 out of my HSA. Company going to reimburse me for that?? Someone calls in sick for Christmas, than the Super Bowl, than Fourth of July... okay, that’s a pattern. Well see, that is the whole point of this thread. I am trying to find a company that respects my right to be off sick and won't harass me over that ... |

Show me a CBA or FOM that says sick time accrual is pay so you can see a doctor. |
NK: I can call in sick to take care of my wife and children, no note required. Was really unhappy we lost parents in the last contract.
