Serves them right. If they can't trust me to be a good judgement on my own well being then they shouldn't trust behind the controls of the a/c.

One of the few posts here that makes sense. There's a big problem with the company hiring and vetting process if they can't trust. It doesn't make any sense that they'd give you the controls of a big jet full of people if they can't trust you. I know companies have paid PIs in the past to go after people who appeared to habitually abuse the system, where there should be no concern for anyone legitimately sick or unable to work. People who habitually abuse the system are usually pretty obvious. As you get older, you realize you don't take chances with being sick, injuring your body, etc. If you need to take a sick day, you take a sick day, the consequences are usually far less than either further injuring your body, infecting crewmembers, etc.

It would have to be worded carefully but I'm sure there's a way that it could be worded.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DON'T DO THAT!

ASAP will not protect you from INTENTIONAL violations.

If you go on record saying you knew you were not fit but flew anyway, you just admitted to an intentional violation. That would get the ASAP thrown out for sure, and they might even be able to use the report against you!

Agreed. That doesn't mean it can't be done. Allot can happen on a 6+ flight. "my throat felt itchy and I thought that there was a chance I might be coming down with something but, due to the pressure from the company I ignored the itching. By the time I landed in XXX I felt that I was not have been at my best if there had been an emergency.... "

Agree with the cautions on using ASAP in this instance.

Another way to do it though would be to call in sick and still write the ASAP. “I felt comany pressure to not call in sick, but I was unfit to fly. I called sick, but I am concerned others might be flying sick due to the company’s policy. This is a safety concern that needs to change... “

Is calling in sick for the Super Bowl a thing? First I'm hearing of it.

Ummm, yes.

Some airlines have the Superbowl as an official holiday. Seriously.

That's better than my idea. I always forget that you can file an ASAP for just about anything, even if you don't fly.
