Tar,

I first submitted my resume a year ago. I don't have the type rating now and I don't plan on getting one until/unless I get hired - while I'm sure it might help, I know it's not going to get me the job. A couple of my buds found that out the hard way.

Right on Steamjet,
A type will get you an interview, but it won't get you a job. Once you get an interview--type rating or not--it's up to you to show SWA what type of person you are, not how good a pilot you are. Everyone who shows up for the interview is exactly even...until the questions or LOI begin.

Satch, nice avatar...good to see the ol' star lizard again.

Two things of note... As far as I know, the interviewers don't know if you have the type or not - other than looking at your resume. But it's not like they're comparing the typed vs. the non-typed. But it does help you get the interview.

The other thing is the rumor/speculation that the May DB is the 14th. So if you interview in early June, you have a good chance of being on the June DB, whereas if you delay it until later in June, you may get put in the July DB.

Just a thought.

Just a FYI,

The first person I interviewed with had my online application sitting on the table in front of me. There is a question on it that asks if you have the type or not on that application. I assume they read it and saw I had the type.

We were interviewed the first week in April. I was thinking we would make the April DB but they briefed us that we all would be in front of the May DB instead. They told us why, but I honestly don't remember. If you interview in early June, you will most likely be put in the July DB. I think that is how it has been running.

Best of luck to everyone.

I was asked if I had the type at my interview. It was when I was interviewing with the active CA who also checked my logbook.
