It won't be up to the pilots of the forum to decide whether or not Skybus succeeds. Its up the employees of Skybus see that their product and services are up to standards of the consumer. That's going to be the driving force for their survival and success as was with the case with Jet BLue.

As with any survey, such as the case with Ryanair, the results are what the polster wishes them to appear. No different here. If there was that much disdain for Ryanair, well you know what the result would be.

Here's what I was looking for. I knew we had these at some point. One penny!!! Here's a clip from an Oakland newspaper today.

"In March, Florida-based Spirit Airlines offered promotional fares of 1 cent each way, plus fees and taxes. Ireland's Ryanair also has sold flights for as low as a penny and features other ultra-low fares. But a regular $10 fare is about as low as it gets."

While a 737-800 holds 189 pax in all coach configuration, you can bet your bottom penny that all of those seats on a particular flight is not sold for a penny. Log onto the ryanair web site for the fairs. Also, the taxes and handling fees charged by airlines are not accountable to the consumer. Ryanair nor Spirit were the first carriers to promote such low fairs for one or two seats on particular flights.

$10.00 dollars a ticket it's just a sales pitch. The way the system works is that the first seats are sold at $10.00 dollars initially, than it starts to go up as the A/C starts filling up. That is the Ryanair business model, I have paid a very high ticket price when I have purchased a ticket on short notice on Ryanair. Think about it, how could a company make money if ticket prices were just $10.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remember Ryanair pilots are paid well and make a profit every year.

they said 10 seats on all flights will be sold for 10 bucks, and then the price goes up. They had an article today in USA today under money section

I’m sure the people paying 10 bucks a ticket will still complain and moan about the service.

After all what type of passengers do you expect with greyhound bus ticket prices?

Read the article too. But, who in the hell wants to go to Belleview, WA if you need to go to SEA? Spend $10 for a ticket, and spend another $200 on a cab fare!

I think you mean Bellingham, WA. Gateway to British Columbia. Two hours from Whistler or a cheaper alternative to flying into Vancouver.

I suppose Skybus' future will be determined by how many people are going to want to fly super duper extra economy to only a few locations, while being pressed by FAs to purchase goods.

Flown on US Air lately? Cookies are $3.00, they have ads on all the tray's, "We have a special deal on all Sky-Mall purchases on today's flight only", then just as you finally fall asleep, they tell you about the EXCITING deal on a US Air credit card.

I'm not supporting SkyBus, but, at least they are honest and up front about their extra-ciricular funding.
