Default Kalitta vs Spirit vs Jetblue

Hi all,

If given the option between the three above what would you recommend as the best choice for someone who is looking for a stepping stone to the legacies UPS or Fedex? I'd like to be happy long term at these "steppingstones" if my #1 choice never comes along. I like the idea of flying all over the world and having two weeks off with K4 but I don't feel too comfortable with the long term stability prospects.

My stats are 8k total 2k tpic 4 type ratings including two widebody types and a B.S.

Thanks!

If wanting to move on to ups or fedex I’d say Kalitta just for widebody international time.

Eventually moving on to another carrier is not guaranteed. I know many people stuck at stepping stone airlines. So go to the one you wouldn’t mind hanging out at for the rest of your career.

I’m a little concerned with the long term viability of Kalitta. Things are good now but it seems that all that can change dramatically with lack of contracts. Jet Blue has a lot of aircraft orders and their own product. It seems more secure to me but idk. I value long term stability but I’d rather do trips around the world in a 747 than do domestic US flying right now. I’m not used to having options

Where do you live? The easier commute wins.

Go to Kalitta. Have you checked Atlas? Seems like a good fit for what you’re looking for.

If you can’t stand 4legs/day through the NE corridor on an E190 then don’t come to JB.

Kalitta pays for your ticket, pays you 1/2 pay to commute, and provides hotels. Jet Blue would be an easy drive eventually since I live in between FLL and MCO.

I don’t have an offer from Atlas and there seems to be a large discrepancy between Atlas and Kalitta contract wise. I’m not averse to 4 leg days but I’ve done the NE corridor ad nauseum for over a decade.

How is health care at Jet blue? Is there a lot of projected growth with the upcoming orders or are they replacements?

In case the dream never calls: Jetblue, spirit, kalitta in that order.
