Default Company Issued Headphones

Hi all,
I was wondering which companies allow you to use your own headset and not company issued ones. Any answer is appreciated.

Every airline would be a safe bet. Also, they are also required to be TSO certified...by the book.

Technically the headsets and hand mike the company puts in the jet have to be TSO ... and are always there as a backup should your non-TSO headset fail.

That being said, the company can be more restrictive. Delta requires TSO headsets if you bring your own.

Southwest has the same policy, you can use any headset as long as it is TSOed.

IANAL, but I think at those times the company requires you to wear a headset (below 18k for us), I would think it has to be TSO even if you had a backup, and the company has nothing else published.

Uhh....this is an interesting interpretation, but completely wrong...you won’t find this written anywhere in any Flight Operations Manual

Spirit lets you use your own headset, but only if you leave the company provided set unplugged at the end of your trip.
