How can they be sure it won't affect commercial aircraft?

Our military needs to occasionally train to such events. This will likely be a non-event for civilian aircraft.

They do this all the time in the Western U.S. in the evening. We lose both GPS and they come back after 15-20 minutes.

It’s why they kept those old A-N radio transmitters functioning all these decades later.

Also, something about having fully independent inertial reference systems. Which can update automatically by VOR/VOR pbd...

I think we’ll survive this.
