With the current WHO mortality rates, take 300 of your closest friends, family, and relatives. 3.4% of them means 10 die.

THAT is why this needs to be taken seriously. It's going to get worse.
if 300 of our friends catch it...

If 300 of your friends are young and healthy most likely none die. If 300 hundred of your friends are old and in poor health most likely all of them die.

All 300 of my friends are at the top of the seniority list.

Too soon?!

Wouldn't say that. Many Chinese doctors in their 30's have died. There is a 32y/o doctor in New York on life support, with his co-workers pleading for Gilead contacts on twitter to get ahold of experimental antiviral drugs used for Ebola and HIV.

But you know, pilots tell me its 'just the flu'.

The statistics I’ve read indicate comorbidity such as smoking or other immune-suppressive chronic health problems increase the risk of death.

Many citizens of China smoke, even their MDs.

For healthy people of young and middle age, without smoking or chronic health issues the death rate is very, very low from this disease.

Stay healthy.

You're in denial.

32 y/o US doctor, No medical ailments

Even those who survive it, will risk pulmonary fibrosis for the rest of their lives. Not getting medical with that.
