Post Apocalyptic World

My wife and I were in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, for a Depeche Mode concert (I'm showing my age) the night before. Not only were we in Vegas, we were staying in the Mandalay Bay, in the same exact room as the shooter -- just 5 floors directly below.
As it happened, my wife felt ill that afternoon, and we left the hotel to fly home early – just a few hours before the shooting began. I cannot imagine what it would have felt like to hear that weaponry get unleashed just a few stories above our heads -- let alone being in the target area.
So when people ask "Why should we ban semi-auto/ full-auto / military-grade hardware", well...there's your answer. That, and the school shootings. It's just too darn easy to rack up a horrific body count.

Since we have a lot of gun experts on this thread let me ask a quick question: I live on a .82 acre pie shaped lot in a suburban subdivision. Over half an acre is backyard. I have neighbors on both sides and behind me. We're seeing coyotes within 1/4 mile of here. I have a 6 foot fence but that won't stop a coyote. I have small pets in the back yard although we bring them in at night.
What would be the best weapon to use on a coyote without endangering my neighbors? The furtherest I'd have to shoot would be maybe 200 feet. In the 80's I owned a cheap shotgun and a .22 rifle, but gave them away when I went overseas, too much hassle to get them into the country I was based in. Never bothered to get new weapons when I xfer'd back. When I was young I did some skeet shooting and also qualified as expert on the Air Force's old .38 revolvers flight crew carried.

I guess theres people with a lot of free time. Debating the 2nd Amendment, classic. I'm assuming the abortion debate will be next. People losing jobs and their lively hood and guys are debating whether you can have a gun. And no one knows what the original intent of the drafters of the Constitution was. Fact is, nothing is changing without a constitutional amendment.

Every Single Airline in the USA is months away from bankruptcy. Some will never return. Right now, 20-30% unemployment is being predicted by August by economists. Airlines will furlough AT LEAST half of their work force. Most will never return. The stock market is headed towards 10,000 or less in a future that is as barren as Mars. There won’t be any good paying pilot jobs to be had in this country ever again. The Great Depression suddenly looks like the good old days.
or I could be completely wrong and it will be even worse than this.

But you make a good point, just ban knives, should work. Just ask parts of the U.K. But hey, at least the body count is down...
But lord knows, no one, I MEAN NO ONE has thought of bombs, wearing the bombs, VBIED's, etc that can rack up this "body count".
At the end of the day, what I bolded and NOT the instrument is the root cause. Always has been, always will be.

I've thought that since he started using it.

But.......but......the knife has a lower body count!!!.
You read your post?
But sure, it's not the crazies that are the root of the problem, and they'll NEVER figure out another way to inflict mass casualties.
I mean, the world is so simple, right?

gun control is constitutional bc look at my earlier posts. body count post was in direct response to poster in quote. gun control regs are not mutually exclusive of crazy person regs. holistic approach is good. less victims of violence=good
