Question about speeding tickets on AirlineApps
#1
I've had a few tickits over the past couple years but I don't have the dates on any of them. I've tried to contact the county courts for the dates but since some of them have been removed through "safe driving" programs the dates aren't there.
How specific do you need to be for airlines? I know the approximate months on all the tickets just no the dates. Also, how far should I go back?
Thanks in advance!!!

NWA used to allow no more than 3 tickets in ten years, I'm not sure what the airlines are doing now. I'm sure It's included as part of the backround investigations. The key is not to lie or misrepresent the truth, you don't want it to come back at you after you get hired. Give them the info they ask for, no more,no less. If your asked about it in the interview tell them the truth, you tried to find exact dates but no records exsist.

Something I have been wondering....
About 4 years ago I moved out of state and changed my license from NY to PA. I know I had two tickets in 2000 and 2001, but I checked my driving record from PA DMV and there is nothing there....seems like either the tickets didnt transfer over, or they got expunged after a certain period of time....
I am trying to get interviews with CAL and SWA, and am wondering if there is nothing on my record, what should I put on the app?
Any thoughts????

This is a pretty good site to go through your records. I would think the only tickets that show up are from your drivers licenses number that you put down on your applications. This is speculation on my part so please take it with a grain of salt. On a related topic whats the best way to explain four speeding tickets in 5 years other than Texas country roads are the worst speedtraps in the states
Any canned answers out there? Thanks.

Short answer, list them all regardless whether they showed up, got lost in the state to state transfer, dog ate them etc. They don't have to be exact dates, but don't blow it by trying to be sneaky. What doesn't show up on one report, might show up on another. You really want to risk this kind of shot by not listing everything you can remember?
I had 5 tickets I listed and still got hired so don't think that by omitting one, (because it dosen't show up) will improve your chances.

I talked to 2 DMVs, my insurance company and the national office and no one said they kept any driving records beyond 3 years. I dont know if it varies from state to state but from what I'm being told no one should be able to check beyond that time frame. Anybody find out anything different...
