We have had a flu vaccine for many years . It doesn’t protect against all strains , but is a prudent measure according to most medical pros. Less than 50% of the population gets it every year .

I heard someone say it will be at least 50 years before any airline every hires again. You can do the math and chuckle.

Not just "a" vaccine, multiple vaccines for multiple strains. Flu shot usually contains 3-4 vaccines, for the strains estimated to be most prevalent that year. COVID uses a different genetic mechanism and is less likely to mutate quickly, so hopefully the vaccine folks can stay on top of it.
