My local news this morning. This is the passenger we won’t be getting back for a LONG time. This is who we need to convince.

The good old days always sounded better than they were.

The 5 years prior to covid were arguably the best in the history of the US airline business.

I watched a local PHX news broadcast the other night. Standard 30 minute report. Of the broadcast - 17 minutes of the 30 minutes were spent on Rona related topics. The media certainly isn’t doing their part to calm any fears

Did they report just the facts such as case numbers, hospitalizations, and deaths or was it fear based opinion?

The media has a duty to report the facts not sweep it under the rug.

The fear based commentary is unacceptable though. They are ruining more lives than Covid is killing with the opinion coverage.

Honestly why people watch opinion commentary is beyond me. Almost like Hannity does all the thinking for you. Fox News and CNN are entertainment channels on the same level as 90 day fiancée and Jersey Shore. I haven't watched cable news for years now except when passing through the crew room, and it's still just as garbage as it was before.

Airlines need to be regulated again. End of story. Ever since de regulation it's been a never ending cycle of doom, bust, and Airlines going under. In all the years prior to de-regulation going back to the 20s, the airline industry was relatively stable and the service was much better.

This experiment has failed.

The vast majority of economists would beg to differ. Air fares are lower and more people have access. That’s the free market at work. It’s brutal, but the public has benefited. Airline labor not so much.
