Do you drive a car from the 1980s? Why not?

Same reason I'll take an Airbus.

Seriously. I can’t even freaking imagine having to fly pax again. Not dealing with that stupidity makes this job 100% better.

How many nights a month are you away though? How many redeye periods do you put on your body? No amount of money can sustain that hit on your health.

No more than 5 red-eyes a month...flew about the same at my previous passenger airline.

Compared to my previous pax airline:

I fly MUCH shorter duty periods, way less block hours, have less time zone interruptions, and much longer layovers. This job is way easier, and I have a crazy amount of time off.

If I remember right, you’re at Alaska? You guys fly as much as I did at my regional. No question you’re putting your body through much more trauma than mine with that flying.

I don’t fly the 777, but that’s the same flying as anywhere else. Except we have more business class deadheads than UAL/DAL/AAL.

JB. Usually bid reserve, but when I do bid a line, I try to bid single leg duty days. We do have some 3-4 leggers and redeyes though. You can generally stay away from them.

Which Airbus you flying? The 320s and 330s and 340s were all born in the 80s. Good luck sticking to 350s and 380s only.

Many work day flights only. Typical red-eye, though is a couple of hours long flight. That’s domestic. International is international and you’ll deal with many time zone crossings regardless of cargo/pax.
