FAA & Airlines to weigh pax...
https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyl...before-flights
Not for flight W&B, but to help calculate a new (and overdue) adjustment to standard weights.
But the voluntary aspect of this makes me question the margin for error of the data... Bertha BonBon and Fran Frappuccino might decline, while Maggie Marathon and Pam Peleton might be more likely to step on the scale.

I think it’s a smart idea but as we fly larger planes I don’t think it affects us as much as turboprops.
I had a baggage handler say we had 100 more bags than we had passengers. Didn’t realize it until after we put in weight and balance into the MCDU. Once they clarified the error and we redid weight and balance (100 bags lighter) we adjusted the A320 by one degree of flex temp and left.
It’s all ratios. When dealing with a 50 ton airplane it isn’t that big of a deal, but a 5 ton airplane then yes. Either way I agree the voluntary nature will negate accuracy. Sad that feelings are placed in front of safety anymore.

Sorry but they can’t have it both ways. You can’t certify a planes evacuation numbers by evacuating 200 athletes out the forward and aft door, calling it a fair representation, and then want to weigh passengers for the same sort of “accuracy”

I'd like to see them weigh the crew members with their bags. Dont they count the guys up front as 200 lbs including bags? Rarely are the guys 200lbs by themselves.
I'm not even getting into the FAs and their bags.
Maybe get rid of seatbelts extenders. If your that big you cant fly because you are a danger to yourself and others in the event of an evacuation not to mention the overall weight of the aircraft.
if we can talk about vaccine passports in the name of safety then we can talk about everything else in the name of safety.

I've been sitting at home contributing to America's obesity problem. I didnt know they were weighing people at KCM. That's interesting. Must be voluntary. Which to add to other comments probably means only thon more fit would volunteer

From: DOWNGRADE COMPLETE: Thanks Gary. Thanks SWAPA.
God, I feel so damn inadequate now only having four stripes. I wonder if Avelo is hiring? How many stripes do their FOs have, six? If it’s six I might just apply.
