But i don't believe there is any evidence to support the idea that turbo prop pilots will struggle more. In fact, I suspect it's the other way around.
The evidence is that many (most?) majors weigh jet time more heavily on app scoring. 121 and MGTOW also gets bonus points so that's better than say 135 king air time.

Nobody is saying it's a career killer. But the are odds are that it will take longer to get called by somebody, without any jet time. Only point (again) is that if you have the option, get some jet time. If not, keeping plugging away building your time (and other resume bullets),

Anecdotal. How much longer did they have to wait due to lack of jet time?

Another anecdote: my phone started ringing shortly after I finished jet IOE. Had previous prop TPIC.

Anyway, if in doubt ask one of the interview prep companies, they can tell you what's going on with majors this month.

I remember the good ol' days when there was respect for guys who flew real planes.

Remember when everyone made fun of the guys who got CRJ jobs with 250 hours?

I don't think that's the point. If it's all about respect the majors would hire navy seals to fly their jets instead of navy pilots... even though a 1600 hour RJ FO would do better in training than your average seal.

Rhetorical question for the masses. Would you rather deal with an engine out scenario in a TP or a jet? Especially if the auto-feather failed.

Majors don't hire people to deal with auto-feather failures. They do hire people to fly at jet speeds and manage descents without gigantic disc aerobrakes.

I enjoy my turboprop job and am living comfortably. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Then you have nothing to worry about. The point was for people chasing the major/legacy ring.
